The People

Meet the Band

William DeVierno
William DeVierno
Guitar & Vocals · Band Leader

William (Bill) DeVierno is a South Florida guitarist and vocalist whose sound is rooted in the spirit of classic rock and blues. Performing throughout the region since 2008, he has built a strong local presence through dynamic live performances, seasoned musicianship, and a deep appreciation for guitar-driven music that shaped generations of rock and blues fans.

In 2010, Bill founded FireTide, a band dedicated to delivering classic rock and blues with energy, authenticity, and a crowd-pleasing live approach. FireTide has performed in many local venues with over 200 shows under our belt.

Bill has also performed as a guitarist with Otis Cadillac, a 12-piece R&B show band, showcasing his versatility and ability to perform across a broader range of styles while remaining grounded in the roots of American rock, blues, and rhythm and blues. Otis Cadillac performed at many premier venues and concerts including two appearances at the Niagara Falls Blues Festival.

Bill's musical journey began in the late 1960s when his parents gave him his first guitar, and his dedication to playing deepened through high school and college bands in the early 1970s. After reconnecting with music in the early 2000s, he returned to performing with renewed focus and purpose.

Drawing inspiration from iconic guitarists such as Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Pete Townshend, Gary Rossington, Duane Allman, and Dickey Betts, Bill brings experience, soul, and classic rock authenticity to every stage he plays.

Nick Garnett
Nick Garnett
Drums & Backup Vocals

Nick Garnett grew up in Washington, D.C., where he started banging on things at a young age. He hasn't stopped since. Nick has performed with bands ranging from jazz combos to Creedence Clearwater Revival tributes. When he's not playing the drums, he writes and teaches creative writing at Florida International University.

Linda Wise
Linda Wise
Vocalist

With a commanding stage presence and powerhouse vocal range, Linda Wise is a seasoned, premier lead vocalist specializing in classic rock, and high-energy dance — energizing every crowd. Career milestones include opening for Blood, Sweat & Tears, Rick Derringer, and exclusive high-profile private performances in Germany.

With a deep resume of live performances since 2000, Linda Wise has fronted and collaborated with an array of South Florida's top tier musical projects, establishing a reputation as a trusted, elite lead vocalist for bands such as Roll the Stones, Krush Party Band, Bobby Nathan Project, and more.

Mitch Packer
Mitch Packer
Keyboard, Sax & Vocals

Mitch got hooked on music when the Beatles arrived, though he'll tell you he was always a Stones guy at heart. With not much sax in the early days, he picked up keyboards so he could get into a band — a practical decision that launched a musical journey spanning more than 60 years.

Along the way, Mitch has racked up some memorable milestones: a 45 that hit #10 in Tokyo, a residency playing for NFL legend Larry Csonka's club in the 1970s, and stints with three tribute bands plus a long roster of South Florida club acts. He's the kind of musician who can play anything and make it feel effortless.

These days Mitch brings that wealth of experience to FireTide on keyboards, sax, and vocals — and says he's really enjoying every minute of it.

David Tangora
David Tangora
Bass Guitar & Vocals

David has been playing bass for over 60 years, though it all started on lead guitar — until everyone kept telling him his riffs sounded like cool bass parts. He never looked back.

He cut his teeth on the NJ/NY club circuit as a teenager, sometimes playing seven nights a week. His bands went on to open for Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs and Englishmen, The James Gang, the original Fleetwood Mac, Blue Oyster Cult, and Edgar Winter. Along the way he jammed with a pre-fame Bruce Springsteen, and recorded demo tracks at the legendary Record Plant in New York City — where a recording engineer once pointed out that he was standing in the exact spot where Jimi Hendrix recorded Electric Ladyland.

After a long pause for family and fatherhood, David picked up his Fender Jazz Bass again in 2007 and never slowed down. He brings decades of groove and a deep love of the instrument to FireTide, where he believes the bass exists to create the sonic canvas that lets everyone else shine.
